Very valid points, too.
 
I did correspond briefly with Jillian Keating from NSW Environment dept., experienced in South Coast protection devices...but I've never been able to get anything back from her that one could then consider! Perhaps, they are not convinced either of having the right system, yet?
 
Re Portland - yes, it's the 'common' beach, so the general public would need to be supportive - to say the least - and you need to keep pets and vandals at bay (excuse the pun!).
 
So - no solution yet, I gather?
