HI Everyone,

At a campout held by Birds Qld at the weekend in the Mt. Kilcoy area, SE Qld., we had 13 different species nesting within 1 1/2 kms of the campsite.  They were:  Aust. Wood Duck, Australasian Grebe, Brown Goshawk, Tawny Frogmouth, Noisy Friarbird, Leaden Flycatcher, Restless Flycatcher, Magpie Lark, Spangled Drongo, White-bellied Cuckoo-shrike, Olive-backed Oriole, Torresian Crow and Red-browed Finch.

The countryside is looking a picture at present with all the wonderful rain we have had and obviously the birds appreciate it too. This must be a record number of breeding species for such a confined area.
