Hi all,
At our place (near Cooranbong NSW) on Friday observed a Peregrine Falcon
flying over carrying a snake. It was too high and too difficult to keep the
binoculars steady while following it for me to be able to identify the snake
with any confidence but it appeared more like a Common Tree Snake than
anything else I could think of. The bird appeared to be having some trouble
dealing with its catch, the snake was writhing about a lot. The falcon flew
around in circles for a while before disappearing behind some trees.
Meanwhile, a Pelican cruised past above the falcon in a straight glide
toward the coast, apparently totally unconcerned with the drama below it.
