    Hi Mike and Birding-aussers,

I saw White-throated Needletails this morning at two locations on Sydney's
Northern Beaches: Irrawong Reserve, Warriewood (33 41' 27" 151 17' 01") and
Deep Creek on Narrabeen Lagoon (33 42' 34' 151 16' 24"). Two birds at
Irrawong and about 10 at Deep Creek, probably the same group as the two
places are not far apart.

Pheasant Coucals have returned to the Northern Beaches with a pair at
Warriewood Wetland on the 3-11-2005 and again this morning (10-11-2005) at
Irrawong Reserve. Almost certainly the same pair. This is the first coucal
report since one bird at Deep Creek around Xmas 2003.

My only experience with coucals over the last 15 or so years in the County
of Cumberland is several locations ( 5 or 6) on the Northern Beaches and
twice at Mitchell Park. Are there any other sites? and have Sydney birders
seen or heard them recently around Sydney?

Bruce.
