Another Button-quail in the Hervey Bay area

I have been reading the reports of Black-breasted Button-quails at Inskip Point enviously. Must get there some time.

However it reminds me of another Button-quail I saw in that general area way back in August 1991.

I was walking in an area of grassland and mangroves at Point Vernon, Hervey Bay, (probably somewhere around 25 15 39, 152 45 29) when I stumbled across a pair of Red-backed Burronquails. I froze and they approached very close, so I got excellent views. I was new to Australia then and didn't realise how difficult Buttonquails are to see (I have never seen this sp since).

If this area is still has native vegetation and hasn't been built over, it might be worth someone's while to look for them at this spot. It was quite close a built-up area back then, and looking back, I'm surprised the RBBQs had survived dogs and cats.
