G'day John,

Many thanks for your email and if I sent you an Ozzie rules ( AFL ) football cut in two halves you and your son could both wear identical safety headwear, could you let me know the magpie response please.

Did you know someone stole a million dollars from a magpie this week?

Better get back to feeding my baby magpies.

Ooroo cobber enjoy your natural world I'd worry about seeing swooping magpies wearing leather head protection.

All the best cobber from olde JAG, Eggy, Lee, Ros and lubba-dove.

Today on a bike track near home in suburban Canberra I was cycling and my son scooting. I had a helmet on, but my son did not. A magpie swooped us and went for my son, presumably as he had no head-covering.

On the way back I had lent my helmet to Oliver, and sure enough the magpie swooped me this time.
