Hi birders and sports fans!

Get those binoculars out, get down to the track, and check out the form
guide. It's time to race the Classic Vic 'thon '05!

Stop Press: Racing for Bird Conservation.

A quick reminder to everyone about the best Spring Carnival race in the
country, the 2005 Victoria Twitchathon. In Flemington and Caulfield
racing circles this race is known as the Classic Vic 'thon '05 (I just
made that up.)

This years twitchathon is scheduled for the 5th and 6th of November.
There are 3 events, the 24hr, 8hr and the Big Sit. Could interested
punters please email me at: <>

We've scored some excellent prices for this years race, including books
donated from Andrew Isles Natural History Books, David Hollands,
Cambridge Uni Press, Lothian Books, Allen & Unwin, which includes 4
copies of Sean Dooley?s excellent new book The Big Twitch, and copies of
superb Wildlife of the Box-Ironbark Country by Chris Tzaros.

Please note that there also been a change this year in regards to the
'thon finish line. This year participants can finish anywhere in the
state (as opposed to BA Head Office.) We will have an unofficial finish
line / BBQ at the You Yangs (the BBQs at the bottom of the hill, near
the office).

See you at the race track!

Tim Dolby
