Hi all,

I get sent an email from the WWF about recent EPBC Act approval requests, and this time I found two for places that I know very little about but that sound like other people might like a chance to submit their thoughts.  I post these because I feel they may impact on local birds in a way only a local might understand.

The first is a waterfront residential development on Hindmarsh Island at the mouth of the Murray River in South Australia.  They want to create an artificial waterway (flood mitigation problems?  water quality? - probably not EPBC Act criteria), among other things.  Have a read and if you have any valid comments, send them to the DEH.

The second is a mineral sand and limestone mining venture south of Bunbury in SW Western Australia.  They want to remove a section of native bushland and mine the soil substrate.

Regards,
Chris
