I disagree! Personally I don't think this email listserv receives much
spam at all.

As an example, I work in the university sector, and there are times when
well over 50 percent of all email I get is either spam or scams. This
figure goes up and down depending on the firewall solutions that the
university has put in place.

In terms of solutions to spam - the internet is inherently plagued by
the corruption and greed of human beings. If you can solve this problem,
then you will stop the spam.

Tim

Ps. Are you sure that your message is not a spam scam? (Just kidding.)
Although this it not so unrealistic; for example the other day I was
asked (by a targeted spam message) to join another 'Australian' birding
listserve - one that would have been based on a financial arrangement
and that utilized advertising.

As a recent sunbscriber to Birding-Aus I notice that of all the lists
I subscribe to this one is the most plagued by spam. Any
suggestions/comments on whether its been increasing or do we just live
with it?
