Hi Jeff

Outer tail feathers have a narrower outer vein so on a folded tail the tips of the outers >shoud be visible and not completely covered by T1 iff they are of equal length as in the >case with sparrowhawk.

I don't get this. If the outer veins of the outer feathers are narrower (than what?) why would that make them visible? Surely it would increase the chance of them being covered up by the central feathers.
