It depends on what images are avaliable, and what resolution those avaliable images are. For example i can pick out individual trees in detail my front yard which is an outer suburb, yet the city centre is blurry and you can barely make out individual bulidings. I think it all depends on what areas have high resolution images avaliable for them, since i believe the program just peices together all avaliable satelite images to construct the whole.
My experience is that is varies enormously in the detail displayed. I can see my house in Brisbane and enough detail to see every swimming pool in the neighbourhood. However I can't make out much detail in the south west of France or in the interior. It's a toy really. It also downloads a lot of data as you run it - I hit 30 Meg in a quick look at about 6 places. That will matter if you're on a 256 Meg per month plan.
