Hi all,
For all those who think that Rheindt and Austin( just published in Emu) has totally discredited Penhallurick and Wink (2004), please be aware that early next week we will send off a reply to Rheindt and Austin to Emu.
Briefly, we have run the analyses that R & A said we should have and guess what?  Except in one minor case, they completely support our 2004 analysis.
We have answered every one of their critiques.  For example, the papers they cite in relation to albatrosses are totally irrelevant to questons such as are we with dealing with one or more species in the T. cauta complex.
We also consider it VERY unethical of R & A that they did not contact us with their concerns at all.
If anyone would like the MS of our reply, it will be available early next week.
John Penhallurick
