Hi Tom, one place very close to Adelaide for the Chestnut-rumped
Hylacola is Black Hill Conservation Park. Enter from the top end of
Addison Rd. Athelstone, go straight ahead for about 200 metres and then
take the climbing track which goes up steps to the right. The track
follows hill contours for a couple of km to where there is a small rest
area among some big rocks. They can often be seen at the rear of the
rest area. Just sit there and wait.

I hope to travel to Adelaide in September or October of 2005 and would
like
to look for Chestnut-rumped Heathwrens in the region. I recall a couple
of
trip reports earlier this year on BIRDING-AUS,I believe, that gave some
particulars on places where they might be looked for. Could someone
point
me to those reports? (I could not find them in an archive search).
Alternatively, if anyone has suggestions for place with a few hundred km
of
Adelaide where I might look for this bird, I would be very grateful.
