Hi Judith,

Sounds a bit like Horsfield's Bronze-Cuckoo but they normally call
from a prominent perch, also Black-eared Cuckoo sound similar but are
more mournful though I'm not sure that the latter would come as close
to the coast as this.

You should be able to download Horsfield's from here (but I can't find
Black-eared):
