I suppose if you were unfortunate enough to be housebound it would make
an intriguing hobby. One trick I can see is that if you have a VCR you
can be continuously taping the programs you're watching so if a bird
flashes by you can stop and rewind and use freeze frame view. (We have
a VCR which records at half speed so the tape lasts twice as long, even
handier for the disabled). Another hobby is listening for out-of-place bird song in films &c, like all the Kookaburra calls in the supposed African jungle in 1940s Tarzan movies....
