Well I certainly have not seen thousands of any finch species of any one time as others have, but I can say that the most numbers I have seen of a few species are as follows:

Chestnut-breasted Mannikin – 200 at Richmond Turf Farms (Sydney)

Zebra Finches – 200 at Richmond Turf Farms (Sydney)

Gouldian Finches – 100 at Ferguson River (near Pine Creek, NT)

Long-tailed Finch – 250 at Ferguson River (near Pine Creek, NT)

Beautiful Firetail (6) – Royal NP (Sydney)
