Hoy folks,
Glorious day here in Newcastle capped off this afternoon with a family
party of White Breasted Sea Eagles soaring west of the city and creating
plenty of ground level buzz from the endless colonies of noisy miners
around the area. The party consisted of three birds, two adults and
juvenile, who from time to time took what seemed playful dives at one
another as they tacked high above. So presumably this crew have nested
somewhere nearabouts... I've never personally spotted a sea eagle nest
in the region (Newcastle, Lake Macquarie) though I've heard stories of
nesting from time to time over the years. Just pondering the extent to
which sea eagle's are sedentary after breeding. Any thoughts
appreciated.
