G'Day Craig & others
The Blue-winged Kookaburras on our Campus just out of Port Moresby sometimes
feed on the insects around some of our security lights for more than an hour
after sunset. Willie Wagtails often feed inside the Science building up to
about 2000h.
I also found it interesting to track down all the Swift and swiftlet
night-feeding records. Several years back when I spent 10 nights in a cave in
the PNG highlands I found some three-toed Swiftlets coming in to roost at 0200h
and they were out again well before 0530h! Who needs sleep?
Happy birding
