Hi David,

The Noisy Friarbirds were active in Spotted Gum/ironbark forest west of Grafton but I didn't specifically note the species, although I think that it was Large-leaved Spotted Gum Corymbia henryi.  This species is in heavy bud in the Grafton-Coutts Crossing area at present and during the next few weeks should attract a large number of nectar/pollen feeders.  The Square-fruited Ironbarks Eucalyptus tetrapleura at Coutts Crossing are in heavy bud as well and Grey Box Eucalyptus moluccana were flowering heavily at Swan Creek 1-2 weeks ago and may still be doing so.  Our local Forest Red Gums finished about a month ago but this species flowering seems quite variable in the Valley.

Regards

Greg
