Hi David,

I fully agree with you re. checking closely flowering trees for Regent Honeyeaters but despite regularly doing this I have never found one on the North Coast in nearly 30 years of residence.  My only North Coast record was at Whiporie a few years ago, where local residents who had them regularly near their house, reported them.  My only other record was of a small group at Nelson Bay, Port Stephens in the late 1960's.  I am sure that there are more Regent Honeyeaters holidaying on the North Coast than are reported but I doubt whether the total number is large.

However I will keep looking!

Regards

Greg
