2/4/05 We started our day at Castlereagh SF (Hawkesbury area NW of Sydney)
where we came across a couple of
Speckled Warblers amongst allot of more common species. Later we were
travelling along Cornwells Lane near Bensons Lane when a Diamond Firetail
flew across in front of our car we stopped to make sure of our ID and the
bird was in full view and continued to feed alongside a WillieWagtail.
Further along in Cornwallis Rd. a bird perched on an overhead wire was a
Diamond Dove, which stayed to be photographed. Two unusual species around
this area. We would be interested to know if other Sydney birdo's have come
across these species in this locality recently.
On 1/4/05 we also reported to Birdline two Rose Robins at Wattamolla - Royal
National Park (South of Sydney).
