Hi,
I managed a spotlighting trip with Roy Sonnenburg in Brisbane on the 23rd of March. I had originally cancelled the spotlighting because I had to head back to Canberra a day early but then missed my plane thanks (or no thanks) to a cab driver failing to show up and a massive traffic jam on the road to the airport. Luckily I was able to re-schedule with Roy at very short notice and head straight out. After receiving lots of responses to my RFI I went to Mt Coot-tha and Mount Glorious. The highlight at Mt Coot-tha was a very good view of a Powerful Owl. We also heard a couple of White-throated Nightjars. At Mount Glorious the highlight was definitely a very close and prolonged look at a Marbled Frogmouth which was a new bird for me. We also found at least 6 Tawny Frogmouths and had one very brief view of an Owlet Nightjar.
Nick
