Birding-aussies,
With the mainland sitings of Swift Parrots, one could reasonably expect Winter is not far off.
To back this up...3 groups of Bee-eaters seen hightailing it north over the Durikai SF (45kms west of Warwick, Sth QLD). Total birds seen 50, but more heard.
No Koels here for 2 wks, and the Pied Currawongs are steadily increasing in number.
A flock of 1500+ Little Corellas has been in town for 6 weeks or so and there are plenty of "pruned" trees about as a result.
The continuing dry may result in the loss of a tree or 2.
Methinks Winter will be upon us sooner than last year and might stay a little longer.

From behind the bino's.
