Hi Birders,
For a while there it looked as if the NSW Central Coast was missing out this
summer on those Fork-tailed Swifts that have been turning up in both the
Sydney and Hunter Regions.
Finally I can report that 8+ Fork-tailed Swifts were seen over Ouriumbah
Creek, Chittaway today at 11.30 hrs.
Our first autumn Double-banded Plover lobbed into the Toowoon Bay Reefs on 3
March 2005, seen when doing a count of the waders on the reefs. It was there
with 7 Sooty Oystercatchers, 33 Red-necked Stints, 11 Pacific Golden
Plovers, 9 Ruddy Turnstones and 2 Grey-tailed Tattlers, along with 5 Little
Terns including one with a metal band on its left leg and an adult with the
colour bands (Left) blue/yellow, (right) blue/metal.
Darryl, would you be able to find out the banding history of this bird
please?
