How long does it take a Koel to fly north? I can't believe they have
left some places so early. My locals leave here - 100 kms north of Brisbane
- late March or early April. Normally the females go about two weeks
before the males.

There is very little calling at present since it is past breeding season,
but they are still quite visible. Last year, the third of the three
juveniles at my place did not leave the nest until March!

Are southern Koels just silent, or are they slow migrators?

Robyn
