Hi All,

I just got back from Tassie and saw 2 groups of WTNT while over there.

1st  -  2 birds just out of Strahan flying within 10ft of the road.  At one stage one 'swooped' us only a metre over our heads. What a bird! And what an amazing wing span they have with close views!!

2nd  - 50 + on the hwy about 30km out of swansea.

Cheers,

Peter

Hi Netters,

My brother Frank and the caravan park owner were fishing from the beach at Scamander on the east coast Friday 11/2, when looking far to the south they thought they saw what looked like a swarm of locusts. As it came closer it turned out to be a flock of approx 2000 Needletails. The birds were working the underside of a storm cloud and headed north disappearing into the distance.

All the Best
