Hi all,
Based on some phone calls last night from people watching the bird (+ a couple
of earlier emails) I can report that the Franklin's Gull was again seen on both
Sunday and Monday evening in the vicinity of the Little River mouth at Werribee
Sewage Farm. This follows on from the Saturday sighting when the bird was found
around the same time. Not entirely sure of all the details concerning the birds
presence and absence, who was there etc but it seems it was around at least at
5:30 pm on Sunday and last night (Monday) between at least 6 and 8. Another
report I had was that the bird was not present on Sunday morning around 8
am....so perhaps the pattern is that it comes in the afternoon/evening to
roost. Good luck and don't forget that access is by permit.
Cheers
Rohan
