Fellow bird-watchers,

Does anyone know of a very good painted Snipe site between Brisbane and Daintree in august? I am visiting Australia for the first time and would like to see a.o (and preferably photograph) Painted Snipes. Knowing only Common, European Wood and Jack snipe which all have quite different ways in which you might see them respectively stumble in to them, i wonder what is a good way to find these snipes in a suitable habitat?

Thanks,
Leo van Brunschot
