A visit to Richmond back lanes Sunday morning was very rewarding with a sighting of 5 Buff-banded Rails, including 2 very small chicks in Cupitts Lane. There were also plenty of Brown Quails and on a small body of water in Powells Lane there were 4 Sharp-tailed Sandpipers.
