On my run here this morning at Wilmington, I inadvertently saved a crested pigeons life and deprived an accipiter of its breakfast.  The accipiter was chasing crested pigeon and hit it from above twice with its claws-each time knocking it to the ground and sending feathers flying.   This all happened very quickly and they ended up within a few yards of me as I was running.  Accipiter was scared up into a tree and the pigeon made good its escape.
