Back in the 1970s I photographed an Intermediate and a Great Egret in the same dead tree beside Banyule Billabong. The Billabong was full though it was a drought year - I believe we had lots of Rufous and Brown Songarks in what were then open cow-paddocks as well. I dont believe that there has been an Intermediate Egret around from then till now - if there was I never heard of it. Merry Christmas and other seasonal greetings to all on Birding-Aus.
