To our great sadness, a Rose-crowned Fruit Dove collided with a window of our house. Though my husband turned it over, and watched over it until it limped away then flew, wobbly, into the shrubs, parts of the bird were later found. It would seem, in its injured state, to have been brought down by a predator. This is only the second sighting of a Rose-crowned Fruit Dove in our garden, the first having been on Christmas Day last year.

This was a day of Spangled Drongo courting flights. Spectacular.

5.12
Pale-headed Rosella eating Moreton Bay Fig, left-footed.
