Hi Bird Carers and Helpers,
I tried to catch an injured Magpie in our suburban Brisbane garden
yesterday, and sadly I failed miserably in the task.
It has been a regular visitor for a couple of years, but yesterday it
appeared with what looked like a foot or more of nylon fishing line curled
round its two legs and feet. It was dishevelled and had difficulty hopping
about. I tried various attempts at getting close to it so that I could
catch it and cut away the line, but it managed to fly away several feet each
time, and eventually "over the hills and far away".
It has not been back today. At least I tried.
In case I need to attempt to catch an injured bird again, can someone give
me some basic "How to" advice?
Kind regards,
Myles Chubb
