Re: flowering grass trees

Hi Ian, 

I found an area in the Anglesea Heath
about 4 months ago where the grass trees where in flower...absolutly stunning!

If its any indication of what might
be attracted to them, i saw the following species actively feeding on them:

Eastern Spinebill
Silvereye
White Eared Honeyeater

Also in the area, and seen perched on
the grass trees:

Scarlet Robin
Yellow Robin
Crescent Honeyeater
Superb Fairy Wren
Brown Thornbill

No doubt a lot more honeyeaters would
have been attracted to them. Tawny Crowneds were heard in the area.

Hi to Victorian Birdos and those that live
near Melbourne.
If you are down Morninton Peninsula way go
to Green's Bush (Mornington Peninsula National Park)-Two Bays Track between
Limestone Rd and Greens Road (Enter Hislops Rd or Greens Rd). The Grass
Trees are if full flower and there are literally hundreds of them. I've
never the likes of them - evidence of fire though the area in last 12 months.
Didn't see any great sightings of Honeyeaters but surely they must be there
sometime. Also some great Orchids at Limestone Rd end bit they may not
last long.
