Hello all,

We photographed an Ibis near Cairns on Sunday.
Part of the bird looked like a Straw-necked Ibis, but it had a wholly
feathered and white head and neck.

It doesn't seem to match up with juvenile plumage, with too many head
feathers, but neither does it seem to match up with any other Ibis sp..

We've put the photo up on ABID (as a Straw-necked Ibis) if you would
like to have a look.
I think the link is this:

http://www.aviceda.org/abid/birdimages.php?action=birdimage&bid=654&fid=
51&p=7&pagesize=1

or if that is too long for your browser, just go to
http://www.aviceda.org/abid/newimages.php
and search there.

Comments welcomed.

Mat and Cathy Gilfedder
