Michael, you did well having seen Mallee Emu-wren but not Striated Grasswren! It's usually the other way around. It always surprises me how many people go to well-known mallee reserves and leave without seeing Striated Grasswrens, in my experience they are quite easy if you know their calls (high-pitched) and habitat requirements (sandy spininfex - anything else is usually no good). Often the easiest strategy is to drive around slowly with the windows open, stopping at suitable - looking places, and sooner or later you're bound to come across one or more!
Cheers
