G'day Micheal,
Any chance of giving me the details of how to purchase some please? is the shop at Mt. Annan on the internet? could you give me their phone number please ... would make an ideal gift/award for entering a nestbox builders and erectors "World Wide Challenge" ....
I'm setting that up now with a lot more thought. More about that later.

Hi All,

We took two budding birders aged two and three to Mt. Annan Botanic
Gardens yesterday. The shop had four different quite easily identifiable fluffy bird toys, Galah, Crimson Rosella, Grey Butcherbird and Kookaburra. $13 each. When you pressed a spot on the belly, they played a short tape of their call! We bought the Galah and Rosella, the Galah tape excited wild Galahs feeding around our cocky cage in the back yard. This response got the kids excited too, a great introduction to learning bird calls and ID at an early age. Must get them a few more birds for Christmas Hearing Galah calls around the house for hours on end is a bit wearing though.
The ponds at Mt. Annan had a nice selection of waterbirds, seen from the car, LITTLE GRASSBIRD, CHESTNUT TEAL and ROYAL SPOONBILL the most notable, plus a flock of 50+ SACRED IBIS.
