Yesterday at Herdsman Lake I observed a Great Egret stalk through the long grass, pounce and emerge with a skink about 20cm long.  It ate it and continued to hunt.  It caught 3 lizards while I watched it and possibly caught more after I left.

My question is actually about the lizard.  Anyone have any idea what species it might have been?
