It should be noted that the French have putting colour bands on Black-browed Albatross at Isles Kergeulen for a number of years and these occur east of Wollongong NSW. New Zealand researchers have been colour banding Gibson's and Antipodean Albatrosses using a particular colour for each annual cohort.

I don't know how the French or NZ Darvic bands would differ from the British so very careful observation and accurate recording of detail would appear to be required.
