Hi All
in reply to the Daintree Wilderness write ups,I would like birders travelling
along Daintree Rd to admire the distance view of the Wilderness as they drive
around Rocky Point. If they look in front of them they will see bare rock and
two metre high erosion tide banks, wihin a metre of the road, loss of century
old trees.
This was caused by the Qld Tansport Dept and Douglas Shire Council building a
sea wall to protect a boat ramp in 1985. The residents have complained since
then to deaf ears. Our aim is to make Australia aware that the Council does not
even follow their " Caring for the Coast." brochures and we would our three km
of sand returned.
