Hi Birders,

David McDonald was wondering what success other people were having with the
Swift Parrot/Regent Honeyeater survey weekend that just past. NSW Central
Coast and Lower Hunter areas surveyed by members of the Central Coast Regent
Honeyeater Volunteer Operations group basically found no Regent Honeyeaters,
however 1 Swift Parrot was at Murray St Bateau Bay, 4 at Bateau Bay North
(within a portion on Wyrrabalong NP) and today 2/8/04 at 930 hrs, 12+ were
seen feeding on lerps in Ironbarks & Stringybarks, within a Bell Miner
colony area, on Middle Ridge Rd, Ourimbah SF. This is an unexpected locality
and I was not looking for Swift Parrots at this location. Despite being
continually chased off by the Bellminers, the Swifties kept coming back and
feeding in the trees.
