Birders, I have recently moved to Alstonville(far North coast NSW) & am surprised at the number of Pied Currawongs & Noisy Miners here. The locals say all the smaller birds are now out of town.
The Currawongs have taken to eating the small sweet capsicums in the vegies patch!
Rainbow Lorikeets, Crested pigeons, Pied butcher birds, Galahs, Straw necked ibis, white Ibis , Crested pigeons, Kookaburras & Magpies are in good numbers.
A sighting of a Barking owl one night was a plus. Ring tailed possums & long nosed bandicoots visit the garden.
