Just a quick note.
Ground Cuckoo-shrike have taken up temporary residence
only 5 mins west of Bundaberg,Qld.
I have seen them reasonably closely in the same paddock
most days in the last week.
These birds are uncommon hereabouts and offer wonderful
viewing . As Eric Zillman , our legendary field naturalist up
here said the other day whilst looking at them, "Truly stunning
birds". Their black contrasting wings and long tails are stunning.
What is also beautiful about them is their dominant call when flying
...quite musical compared to other cuckoo-shrikes.
Cheers,
Bill
