Hi All.

Just a quick note about a short seawatch I did from Soldiers Pt. last Friday morning.
Good to see some Albatross, with 15 Yellow-nosed and 3 Black-browed noted. A further 10 or so escaped identification. Many hundreds to several thousand Fluttering SW, with at least 30 White-fronted Terns amongst the huge flocks of Silver Gulls feeding over the schools of fish.
Watched an juv./imm. Sea-Eagle trying to catch fish where the feeding birds were, but with no luck. It then has a bit of a go at a YN Albatross, fortunately with no luck again.
I'm looking forward to the next reasonable weather pattern to get out again.

Bye for now,

Rob Quinan
