G'day all

For those interested I had a nice surprise at Samsonvale cemetary this
afternoon (Saturday) in the form of an Australasian Bittern. I first
disturbed it straight in front of the cemetary at the lakes edge whereupon
it flew across to the grassy basin on the other side of the river before
circling back and hurtling down behind the point on the west side of the
mowed area. Upon finding it again and viewing it through binoculars for a
short time I tried to get close enough to get some video footage but it
flushed at about 40-50m away and flew across the river again this time
alighting in vegetation beside a small inlet.

Cheers
