Hugo's message bounced, so I thought I'd forward it and add my own bit!
Last weekend there were at least 200 Freckled Duck, and a few Shovelers
and Blue-billed as well (as usual). There have been 50+ Freckled here
for a year or more, with occasional reports of larger numbers. Hugo's
500 is the highest number I've heard quoted.

Further advice re Superbs and turkeys co-existing, or not, would
appreciated.
I cannot answer question 2.
My observations lead me to consider that scrub turkeys feed mainly by raking
the leaf litter, but they do not dig into the soil as do Albert's Lyrebirds.
Confirmation or otherwise of this would also be appreciated.
