Gday all.  Re the thread on Ospreys, a Osprey was recorded on the Hawkesbury/ Napean at Penrith by Jane Miller 24-8-2002 you are probably aware of this record Alan. I have no record of them in the Hawkesbury and" Hoskin, Birds of Sydney" says  " A very rare species. Prior to 1900 a few pairs said to frequent inlets of the Hawkesbury and Port Hacking rivers''.
In regards to conditions in the Hawkesbury most of the lagoons are dry or very low with the exception of Bakers and Little Wheeny at Cattai. Ospreys would have a hell of a task fishing in the Hawkesbury around Windsor as the river is covered in Salvinia.
