Hi all,

Thanks to Bob Hambling for pointing out to me that he has seen Wood Ducks
with green on their flanks. This prompted me to have a closer look at all
the Wood Ducks I've seen since. Whilst I was vagualy aware that Wood Ducks
had a green stripe in their wing I had never really taken much notice, the
perils of being a twitcher. Once you've seen enough of a bird to ID it you
don't pay it much more attention, especially if it is common. The duck I saw
with the green rump was a male who had his wings folded in an unusual
