The male Northern Shoveler is back at Werribee again, in immaculate adult
plumage. Bob Swindley found it on 14 April during our regular counts for
Melbourne Water. It has been seen again near the 270S conservation ponds,
but seems to be moving around and is not easily located. It was first
found in an active construction area, and we would need to arrange escorted
visits for birders wishing to go there. Will Steele from Melbourne Water
has offered to help in a roster to take birders to that area. He can be
contacted on 9235 7287 or mobile 0418-373036, or email as above. Cheers,
Richard.
