spring N.Norway: birdlist 24-26 april

        SPRING IN N.NORWAY: BIRDLIST 24/26 APRIL 2004, PLUS MAIN ARRIVAL DATES 
FOR
THE AREA

Below I have listed the birds I saw this last weekend (x signifies that
this was the first time this year in the Tromsø area---but remember I was
abroad in 2 weeks). I have also added, for your information, the median
arrival dates for the area (and thus not the first!), cribbed from a paper
by my colleague here at the museum Rob Barrett ("The phenology of spring
bird migration to north Norway." Bird Study 49, 2002, 270-277.) The order
used is that of the British Birds list of palaearctic birds.
